I propose a new rating system for Stargate episodes. It would range from negative infinity to positive infinity, with the value being the number of viewings of "Emancipation" it cancels out. A rating of 1.0 would mean that it was good enough to make up for one "Emancipation"; a rating of -5.0 would mean that you'd need to watch "Emancipation" five times to make up for the episode in question.

(What, me rewatching "The Quest" and hating it even more than the first time? But of course!)

I think that this week's Battlestar Galactica was a very good Stargate episode.

"The Pegasus Project" is probably my favorite Atlantis episode since "The Siege, Part 1". :)

SciFi: Don't They Want to Sell DVDs?

The SciFi Channel, last year, offered deleted scenes for some episodes for Stargate: SG-1. This year, not only are they offering deleted scenes for Battlestar Galactica (in QuickTime, even, versus the RealMedia they had before), but they're also starting to offer downloadable commentaries by Ronald D. Moore.

In other words, their site is replicating everything you'd find in your typical DVD set. I wonder how this'll affect sales, especially since they'll probably be making some money from the DVD sales. (At least, I hope they did on the miniseries since it had their logo slapped on the box....) It's a great idea, and I hope they keep doing it; I just hope it doesn't also bite them in the butt.

You got Maybourne. You should be ashamed of yourself.
Colonel Maybourne: You are an opportunist who's
only real concern is yourself. You only do
things that will benefit you in some way.

Which Stargate: Atlantis character are you?

Though if I said that the love of my life was my family instead of my pet, I get Weir. The sad part is, I'm honestly not sure which option is closer to the truth. (Sadder when you know that the closest things I have to pets are my stuffed ferret and the really really cute stuffed Stitch I got today....)

I'd rather be Rodney, though. He snarks.

The one problem with watching Stargate: SG-1 episodes imported from the UK: the film -> PAL conversion (or rather, the lack thereof).

Okay, in response to the prior news that Ben Brodwer would be joining the cast of Stargate: SG-1, [info]katie_m came up with A Stargate Primer for the Farscape Fan.

Of course, somebody ([info]cofax7) had to come up with its counterpart, A Farscape Primer for the Stargate Fan.

Both are quite amusing, at least as a fan of both. Those of you who've watched neither will have no clue what they're talking about, most likely. Then again, I say that you're nuts for not watching them. :p

Since they probably can't have RDA back...

...why not snurch the lead from a series Skiffy cancelled?*

Hopefully needless to say, stoked is I that Ben'll be appearing on TV once again. :D I now have faith that season nine might very well be an improvement over S7/S8....

Stargate is back!

As is the norm for cable, Skiffy's schedule is complete opposite that of the broadcast networks. So, shortly after they've wrapped up their seasons, the eighth season of Stargate: SG-1 and the first season of Stargate: Atlantis have begun.

(Well, okay, not that I care about broadcast seasons, since the Stargate shows are all that I watch now that Angel, Firefly, and Farscape are gone....)

Spoilers for 'New Order' )

Spoilers for 'Rising' )

Well... I guess that's it. :) I heartily enjoyed not working for the first time in, well, weeks. Then again, I did bring this down on myself with two jobs. :-/

It's, what, a month and a half until we go back to college? Wow. I'm still not used to this whole "school ends in April, not June" schedule. It feels like I should be back already....
